The Bruce Trail - Sydenham Section

The Sydenham Section of the Bruce Trail winds its way along the Niagara Escarpment for about 125 kilometres between the now abandoned pioneer settlement of Blantyre, on Grey County Road 7 and Bluewater Park in downtown Wiarton.

Exploring: This sections starts with a trip through the valley of the Bighead River, then the Trail winds along the Escarpment to the expansive Bayview Escarpment Nature Reserve. Spectacular views of Georgian Bay are plentiful in this section. Waterfalls ar also a hikers delight. Near Owen Sound, the Sydenham River tumbles over the famous Inglis Falls. The Sydenham section is home to many provincially rare ferns, such as the Hart's Tongue Fern. Other highlights include the Skinner's Bluff section, Kemble Mountain section, Dodd's Hill, Jones Falls/Pottawatomi Conservation area, The Glen Management Area, Indian Falls, Bognor Marsh, Lake Charles, ANSI Slough of Despond, Crevice Springs, Gleason Lake, the West Rocks and Harrison Park, Walters Falls, Lindenwood Management Area, Bass Lake and The Bruce Caves.
